Minehead is a base, not a place you spend days exploring. Walk the seafront, look at the harbour, climb up to Higher Town for St Michael's church and the start of the South West Coast Path, then strike out east to Dunster or west onto Exmoor. The town itself is a half-day; the country around it is the reason to come.
