Queen's Hall

The Queen's Hall is a small theatre and cinema on the seafront, built in 1914 as part of the town's expansion into a holiday resort. It has been run as a venue almost continuously ever since, showing films most days and hosting live music, stand-up, and amateur drama.

Check the listings if you are in town for a wet evening; programming is modest but the building itself — Edwardian brick, art-deco interior — has its own period charm.
