The Japanese Garden near Newquay is a small, carefully composed garden of ponds, bridges, maples, stone lanterns, and clipped planting. Its appeal is the change of pace: a controlled, contemplative landscape in a part of Cornwall better known for beaches and surf.
It is not a major garden on the scale of Cornwall's headline estates, but it is a worthwhile short detour if you are nearby or want something calm between coastal stops. Spring blossom and autumn colour are the best seasons.
