Trenance Gardens

Trenance Gardens lie in a sheltered valley a short walk south of the town centre, with formal flower beds, an ornamental lake, a boating pond, and the small Newquay Zoo at the upper end. Together they form the green heart of the town.

The gardens were laid out in the 19th century around a Victorian viaduct that still carries the main railway line. They are particularly pleasant on a quiet afternoon. The zoo focuses on smaller species and conservation breeding; it is well done and good for families.
