The cliffside district two miles north-east of central Torquay, sitting 240 feet above its own beach. Babbacombe Downs — the grassy clifftop park — is one of the best places in the whole bay for a sunset walk, with views right across Lyme Bay to the Dorset coast. The Downs Road has a string of small hotels, a theatre, and the upper station of the Cliff Railway down to Oddicombe Beach.
It is also where the Model Village is, plus a few good pubs and a parade of seaside cafes. Easy to reach by bus from town or on foot via the coast path.
