Torquay's main venue for touring drama, musicals, comedy, and ballet. Opened in 1961 on Princess Pier, it seats around 1,500 and runs a programme that mixes West End tours, big-name comics, and the annual Christmas pantomime. The building itself is an unloved piece of 1960s civic architecture, but the seafront location and the variety of shows make it worth checking what is on while you are in town.
