Hall for Cornwall

The Hall for Cornwall is the principal arts venue for the county — a mid-sized theatre and concert hall that hosts everything from touring West End musicals to stand-up comedy, opera, ballet, and classical music concerts. For a city of Truro's size, it punches well above its weight in terms of programming.

It was completely refurbished and expanded in 2021 and is now a genuinely good venue with a comfortable interior and decent sight lines. Worth checking the programme before you visit — if something good is on, it is a legitimate reason to stay an extra night in Truro.

A story
The Hall for Cornwall underwent a major £20 million renovation completed in 2021, expanding its capacity and modernising the building. It now holds around 1,000 seats and regularly hosts West End touring productions, making it one of the most significant regional theatres in the south-west of England. The original Victorian building — built as a public hall in 1892 — is still clearly visible in the renovated structure.
