Huddersfield Art Gallery

Surprisingly strong collection with Bacon, Lowry, and Moore

Located in the town's public library building on Princess Alexandra Walk, the gallery holds a collection that belies Huddersfield's modest size. Works by Francis Bacon, L.S. Lowry, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland, and painters of the Camden Town group share the walls. Free to enter, and usually quiet enough that you can take your time with the work.
