The cafes clustered around the market and town centre do exactly what you would expect from a West Yorkshire market town: strong Yorkshire tea, sandwiches, pie and mushy peas, and baked goods. Unpretentious and good value, with a busy atmosphere on market days (Wednesday and Saturday). Worth stopping for a mid-morning break if you are visiting on a market day — the energy around the Cornmarket and Market Place is at its best when the stalls are up.
