Scarborough has a direct train service to York (50 minutes) and Hull (80 minutes), both on the TransPennine Express network. From York there are fast connections to London King's Cross (2 hours) and other major cities. There is no direct service to London. The station is a short walk west of the town centre.
By road, Scarborough is about 65 km from York via the A64 — roughly an hour in normal traffic. There is no motorway connection; the road becomes congested in summer.
National Express coaches connect Scarborough to several major cities, though journey times are long.
