Laxey is on the Manx Electric Railway, which runs between Douglas and Ramsey along the island's east coast. Trams depart from Derby Castle in Douglas roughly every 30 minutes during the summer season. The journey to Laxey takes about 30 minutes. At Laxey station you can change to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for the summit.
By road, the village is about 11 kilometres north of Douglas on the A2 coastal road.
