Armagh has a temperate Irish climate — mild, damp, and variable. Summer (June–August) brings the most reliable weather and is the best time to visit if you want to walk the countryside around Navan Fort or explore the apple orchards at their best. The Bramley Apple Festival in October celebrates the county's most famous agricultural product and is a good reason to visit in autumn.
The Apple Blossom Festival in early May, when the orchards of County Armagh are in bloom, turns the countryside south and west of the city into something remarkable — miles of pink and white flowers across rolling hills. If you can time a visit for early May, it is worth doing.
