Cathedral Quarter

The Cathedral Quarter is Belfast's cultural and nightlife district, a neighbourhood of Victorian red-brick warehouses, former linen mills, and narrow entries (alleyways) that has been transformed into the liveliest part of the city. The area takes its name from St Anne's Cathedral, which stands at one end of the quarter, and extends through the network of streets between the cathedral and the waterfront.

The Cathedral Quarter has the highest concentration of bars, restaurants, and live music venues in the city. On a Friday or Saturday evening, the energy here is considerable. The area also has Belfast's best street art beyond the political murals: the walls and entries of the Cathedral Quarter are covered in work commissioned from artists across Ireland and beyond.
