Brodick is connected to the rest of Arran by a single coastal road that circles the island — the 90-kilometre route is one of the finest cycling roads in Scotland and can be completed in a day by a fit cyclist. Bike hire is available from several places in the village, including near the pier.
Stagecoach buses run a regular service from Brodick to Lamlash, Whiting Bay, Blackwaterfoot, and Lochranza, covering all the main villages. Services are less frequent in winter. Taxis are available from Brodick for reaching more remote trailheads.
For Goat Fell and the northern mountains, most walkers simply walk from the pier — Brodick Castle and the start of the Goat Fell path are about 3 kilometres north of town.
