Crail itself is tiny and best explored on foot. The harbour is downhill from the main street, and the old lanes are part of the pleasure.
For the wider East Neuk, buses link the coastal villages, but walking the Fife Coastal Path is the better way to understand the geography. A car helps for Scotland's Secret Bunker and Cambo Estate.
