Crail has no railway station; the old Fife Coast Railway is long gone. The nearest useful railheads are Leuchars for St Andrews or Kirkcaldy and Leven for the south Fife side, with buses continuing along the East Neuk.
By car, Crail is about 20 minutes from St Andrews and under 10 minutes from Anstruther. Roads are narrow through the villages, so drive as if there may be a bus, cyclist, or lost visitor around every bend.
