Elie is a beach village. The main pleasures are walking — the chain walk along the cliffs east of town, the long sandy beach itself, the Fife Coastal Path stretching off in both directions — plus golf on one of Scotland's most idiosyncratic links courses, and seafood at the Ship Inn afterwards.
