Jedburgh sits on the A68, about 75km south of Edinburgh — roughly 1.5 hours by car in normal conditions. It is 20km from Kelso and about 20km from Melrose via the A698.
There is no train station in Jedburgh. The Borders Railway runs to Tweedbank, about 20km away via Melrose, and Borders Buses connect Jedburgh to Edinburgh and Kelso. Most visitors arrive by car, which is by far the most practical option for anyone doing the Border Abbeys circuit. Edinburgh Airport is the nearest major airport, around 1.5 hours away.
