Banffshire Maritime Heritage Association Museum

Free volunteer-run museum of Macduff's fishing and shipbuilding heritage

Opening Hours Friday to Monday, 1pm to 5pm (subject to volunteers)

A volunteer-run museum at the bottom of Duff Street, just south of the harbour lighthouse, packed with models of fishing boats, oil rigs, and supply vessels alongside artefacts from the area's fishing and shipbuilding history. Macduff has been building boats since the 18th century, and the yard at the harbour is one of the last working traditional boatyards on the northeast coast. The museum tells the story in photographs, scale models, and tools.

Open in the summer season on Friday to Monday, 1pm to 5pm (subject to volunteer availability). Entry is free, with donations welcome. It is worth calling ahead or checking locally before making a special trip.
