Eating Out

Broadford has a handful of reliable options for food, which is more than can be said for most villages of its size on Skye. Cafe Sia on the main road is the best daytime choice — good coffee, home-baked cakes, and solid lunches. The Claymore Restaurant is a reasonable option for an evening meal, with a menu that leans on local seafood and Scottish beef. The Co-op supermarket in the village makes self-catering straightforward; the deli counter sometimes has local cheeses and smoked fish worth picking up for a hill picnic.

If you have transport, the drive south toward Sleat and the Armadale ferry brings you past a few additional options, and Portree has a wider range about 25 miles north.
