Getting Around

Llandudno itself is compact and easily walkable. The town centre, the pier, and the base of the Great Orme are all within 15 minutes of each other on foot. The promenade runs the full length of the North Shore, and walking it from end to end is one of the pleasures of the town.

The Great Orme Tramway and the Cable Car are the main options for getting to the summit, both departing from different points near the town centre. If you plan to walk up or down, the Haulfre Gardens path and the Marine Drive are both enjoyable routes.

For getting further afield, Arriva Trains Wales connects Llandudno to the rest of the North Wales coast and beyond. Local buses serve the nearby towns and villages, and in summer there are occasional boat trips along the coast from the pier. Driving is the most flexible option for day trips into Snowdonia.
