The old Bermuda Railway — which ran from 1931 to 1948 — was dismantled after the war when cars arrived on the island, but the trackbed was preserved as a walking and cycling trail running most of the length of Bermuda. The Southampton section cuts through the interior of the parish, away from the road traffic, with views over both the north and south shores. Rent a bicycle in Hamilton or at one of the resort hotels and ride it west through the parish; the trail surface is gravel and crushed shell, manageable on a hybrid or mountain bike.
