Banff is a tourist town and prices reflect that, but the dining range is surprisingly broad — from the refined Rocky Mountain cuisine at the grand hotel dining rooms to pub burgers, taco joints, and brewpubs along Banff Avenue and Bear Street. Alberta beef and game (elk, bison) feature on most menus. Reservations are essential in July, August, and over the Christmas holidays; many restaurants simply cannot squeeze walk-ins in.
