Marmot Basin

Ski area in Jasper National Park with broad alpine views.

Marmot Basin is Jasper's downhill ski area, set high in the national park with open bowls, forested runs, and views that remind you this is still the Canadian Rockies. In winter it is one of the main reasons to base yourself in Jasper rather than only passing through in summer.

The mountain is seasonal and weather-driven, so check lift status, road conditions, and rental arrangements before heading up. Even non-skiers may enjoy the scenery if access and facilities suit, but Marmot is at its best when you plan it as a proper mountain day.
