Pyramid Lake

The largest of the lakes on the Pyramid Lake Road north of Jasper townsite, Pyramid Lake sits in a cirque below the perfectly triangular peak of Pyramid Mountain — one of the most satisfying natural reflections in the park when conditions are right. The island in the lake is connected to the shore by a short wooden bridge and makes a good destination for a walk.

Canoeing here is popular, with rentals available from a concession on the shore. The road from town passes Patricia Lake on the way, making the two lakes a natural pairing for a half-day excursion by bicycle or car. In summer, the lakeside is busy; arriving in the early morning means having the reflection largely to yourself.
