Moonraker Trail Network

The Moonraker Trail Network is Golden's mountain biking crown jewel — a well-maintained system of singletrack trails winding through the forested hillsides immediately above town. The network has grown steadily over the years through volunteer trail-building efforts and now covers dozens of kilometres of trails ranging from beginner-friendly green routes to technical black diamond descents.

Most trails start from the downtown area, making it easy to ride from your accommodation. The views from the upper trails take in the Columbia River valley, the wetlands to the south, and the snowy peaks of the Purcell range across the valley. Mountain bikes can be rented from several shops in Golden, and the trail network is well-signposted. The season typically runs from May through October, depending on snowmelt.
