Grand Forks rewards a slow visit. The Doukhobor heritage sites in the surrounding farmland are the most distinctive — communal villages, a working dairy, the small but excellent Boundary Museum — and the rivers and trails around town fill an active day. None of it is essential, but the whole adds up to one of the more interesting stops in the southern Kootenay-Boundary region.
