Marble Canyon and Pavilion Lake sit northeast of Lillooet in a landscape that feels sharply different from coastal British Columbia: dry slopes, pale limestone, clear water, and big interior light. The canyon is compact but striking, with cliffs rising above a chain of small lakes.
Pavilion Lake adds scientific and scenic interest, known for unusual freshwater microbialite formations as well as its colour and setting. This is a worthwhile drive if you have your own vehicle and want Lillooet to feel like a base for exploring rather than just a stop on the highway.
