Pacific Rim National Park Reserve

Pacific Rim National Park Reserve protects the island's great west-coast trio: Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands, and the West Coast Trail. It is where Vancouver Island feels most exposed to the Pacific, with cedar forest, drift logs, fog, and surf all close together.

Long Beach is the easy introduction, with wide sand and accessible boardwalks. The Broken Group needs a kayak or boat, and the West Coast Trail needs permits, preparation, and respect for weather.

A story
The park sits within the traditional territories of Nuu-chah-nulth peoples, and the word 'reserve' matters: First Nations rights and title were not extinguished when the park was created.
