When to Go

June to September is the easiest season, with long days, warmer water on the east coast, and the full run of whale-watching, kayaking, and hiking operators. July and August are also the busiest months, especially in Tofino, Victoria, and Parksville.

Spring is excellent for gardens, waterfalls, and fewer crowds. Autumn brings storm-watching season to the west coast, while winter is wet at sea level and snowy enough for skiing at Mount Washington.
