West Coast Trail

The West Coast Trail is Vancouver Island's famous multi-day coastal trek, following beaches, ladders, cable cars, forest, mud, and old lifesaving routes along the southwest shore. It is not a casual walk, and that is the point.

Permits, tides, fitness, and weather matter. If you are not ready for the full trail, shorter coastal hikes around Pacific Rim and Juan de Fuca give a taste without the same commitment.
