Bronte Village

Bronte Village is the western end of Oakville, centred on Bronte Harbour where Bronte Creek empties into Lake Ontario. It was a separate village before being absorbed into Oakville in the mid-20th century, and it retains a slightly more working-class, lived-in feel than the polished Old Oakville area to the east. The harbour has been upgraded in recent years and now has a marina, a small park, and a row of restaurants and pubs along Bronte Road.

The beach at Bronte is one of the few swimmable stretches of Lake Ontario near Toronto — sandy, with lifeguards in summer. Bronte Creek mouth is a good spot for migratory bird watching in spring and fall.
