Sheridan College

Sheridan College's Trafalgar Campus in Oakville is the main campus of one of Canada's most respected polytechnic institutions, known particularly for its animation, illustration, and media arts programs. The campus is a large modern facility with a mix of older buildings and newer studios.

For visitors, the main interest is the Sheridan Student Gallery, which shows graduating student work including animation, illustration, and design. The gallery is open to the public and provides a good window onto the kind of creative output the school produces. The college also runs a theatre program and presents productions in its Fleck Dance Theatre and other campus venues, some of which are open to the public.

A story
Sheridan's animation program has produced an extraordinary number of working animators in Hollywood — alumni have worked on nearly every major animated feature of the past three decades, from Lion King and Toy Story through to the Pixar and DreamWorks films of the 2000s. The school's reputation in animation is such that it became a primary feeder for California studios looking for Canadian talent.
