Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB) sits about 25 km northeast of the city. Air Canada and Porter run multiple daily flights from Toronto Pearson and Toronto Billy Bishop, with seasonal service to Ottawa. Taxis and the Sudbury Airport Shuttle connect the airport to downtown.
By car, Sudbury sits at the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway (17) and Highway 69, which carries traffic up from Toronto and the south. The drive from Toronto is about 4 hours; from Ottawa, about 5; from Sault Ste. Marie, about 3.5.
By train, the Canadian (Toronto–Vancouver) stops at Sudbury Junction, well east of downtown. The Sudbury–White River line is one of the last remaining flag-stop trains in Canada and runs three times a week into roadless bush country.
Long-distance buses from Toronto, North Bay, and Sault Ste. Marie use the Sudbury terminal on Notre Dame Avenue.
