Brackley Beach-Stanhope

PEI north-shore beach area of dunes, lighthouse views, seafood, and summer cottages.

Brackley Beach-Stanhope is a loose north-shore stretch of Prince Edward Island rather than a single town. Brackley, Stanhope, Covehead and the lanes between them sit behind dunes, cottages, small farms and the protected beach country of Prince Edward Island National Park.

The reason to come is simple: beach time with a little more texture than a resort strip. Brackley Beach has the broad sand and facilities, Stanhope Beach is usually calmer, and Covehead Harbour Lighthouse gives the area its postcard marker.

It is seasonal, and outside summer the place can feel half-asleep. In July and August, though, this is one of the easiest ways to get from Charlottetown to dunes, warm Gulf water, lobster rolls and a classic drive-in night.

Beaches

Brackley and Stanhope sit on the north-shore beach belt of Prince Edward Island National Park. The dunes are fragile and protected, so use the marked boardwalks even when a shortcut looks harmless.

Eating Out

Expect casual seafood, dairy bars and seasonal hours. Many places close or cut back outside the warm months, so check before driving over for one specific meal.

Guide

Shopping

Shopping here is small-scale and seasonal: craft galleries, beach supplies and local art rather than a town-centre retail strip.

Things to Do

The area is built around the national park beaches, the Covehead harbourfront, cycling on the Gulf Shore Parkway and a few summer-only stops that make sense after a day in the sand.
