Eastman

Small Eastern Townships village known for wellness, literary culture, and forest trails below Mont Orford.

Eastman is a small village in the Eastern Townships, tucked between lakes, low wooded hills, and the western side of Mont Orford. It is not a place of blockbuster sights, but it has a clear personality: quiet wellness retreats, bookish summer energy, and easy access to forest trails.

The village is best as a slow day from Magog, Sherbrooke, or Montréal, especially if you want to walk rather than shop. Parc Missisquoi-Nord gives you a simple trailhead right in town, while the Green Mountains Nature Reserve protects a much larger Appalachian forest landscape nearby.

Eastman also has a softer cultural side. Les Correspondances d'Eastman turns the village into a literary meeting place each year, and Spa Eastman is the name most Quebec travellers associate with the town. Come with modest expectations and it can be a very pleasant spare day; come looking for a major destination and you will probably wonder why you left Magog.
