Getting There

Almost everyone arrives by air into Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) on Grand Cayman, which is about 2 miles east of George Town. Cayman Brac has its own airport, Sir Charles Kirkconnell International (CYB), which handles some regional and charter flights.

Cayman Airways is the national carrier and flies direct from Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Orlando, and several other US cities, as well as Kingston, Jamaica. American Airlines connects from Miami, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Philadelphia. JetBlue flies from New York and Boston. British Airways operates five flights a week from London Heathrow.

Miami is by far the most convenient hub — flights take about an hour and there are multiple departures daily. From New York or Toronto expect around four hours. From London it's about ten hours.

Cruise ships dock at George Town's cruise terminal on Grand Cayman. The port is a major call for Caribbean cruise itineraries departing from Florida, and on busy days multiple ships arrive simultaneously, flooding the small capital with day-trippers.

There is no departure tax charged separately at the airport — it is included in the airfare.
