When to Go

The Cayman Islands sit in the western Caribbean and enjoy warm weather year-round — temperatures generally hover between 75°F (24°C) and 88°F (31°C).

December to April is the dry season and the peak of the tourist season. Trade winds keep things comfortable, rainfall is minimal, and the sea is calm and clear. This is the best time for diving and beach weather. Expect higher prices and busier resorts.

May to November is the rainy season. Showers are usually short and intense rather than all-day affairs, and many days are still sunny. The islands' position in the western Caribbean means they are less frequently in the path of major Atlantic hurricanes than islands further east, but the threat is real from June through November. The upside is noticeably lower rates and thinner crowds.

March to early June can be a sweet spot — the tail end of the dry season or early wet season, with rates beginning to drop before the September–October hurricane peak.

Major events worth timing around include Pirates Week in November, Cayman Carnival Batabano in May, and the Cayman Cookout food festival in January.
