Golfito has its own small airport with daily Sansa and Aerobell flights from San José (about 50 minutes). Driving from San José takes 6–7 hours on the Pacific coastal highway via Pérez Zeledón — the road is paved but slow.
For onward travel to the Osa Peninsula, lanchas (passenger boats) leave Golfito's main dock for Puerto Jiménez five times daily, taking about 30 minutes. Water taxis to Cacao, Zancudo, and the gulf lodges run on demand from the same dock.
