Golfito's draws are wildlife and water — humpbacks in the gulf, scarlet macaws in the surrounding rainforest, and easy access to the protected wilderness of the Osa Peninsula across the bay. The town itself is more interesting for its banana-republic layout than its sights, but the surroundings reward a few days of slow exploration.
