The town centre is walkable. To reach Guayabo National Monument (19 km north) or the Turrialba Volcano access road, you'll need a car or taxi — public buses to Guayabo are infrequent. Taxis are available in the town square and are inexpensive by Costa Rican standards. Most rafting trips include transport to and from the river put-in.
