Turrialba is about 60 km east of San José, roughly 1.5 hours by car on Route 10 via Cartago. Buses run regularly from San José's Terminal del Caribe (Calle Central, Avenida 13) and take around two hours. No direct bus from the airport — take a taxi or Uber to the terminal first. Most whitewater outfitters run shuttles from San José hotels, which is the easiest option if you're coming specifically to raft.
