Las Terrenas has a lively bar scene concentrated on El Paseo, the pedestrian strip near the beach, and along the main beach road. The French-Italian expat community has left its mark — you can find proper espresso and croissants in the morning at several cafés, and wine bars that would not look out of place in Marseille. Dominican rum bars and colmados coexist with these imports on the side streets. The beach bars along Playa Las Terrenas serve cold Presidente beer and fresh coconut water, and the pace slows considerably after dark.
