Santiago's nightlife is concentrated around Avenida Estrella Sadhalá and the Cerros de Gurabo area east of the centre, where merengue and bachata clubs run until dawn at weekends. The Monumento is a popular spot for a sundowner on a bench. A few quieter cafes cluster near the Centro León.
