The dry season (November through April) is the most comfortable time to visit — clear skies, lower humidity, and the best conditions for the volcano hike. The rainy season (May through October) brings daily afternoon downpours, but mornings are usually clear and the landscape is vividly green. The volcano trail may close during heavy rain periods.
The Ruta de las Flores is worth visiting year-round, but the flower gardens along the route are most spectacular in November and December when the jacarandas bloom.
