A beach a short walk or boat ride north of Livingston's main dock, Playa Quehueche is calmer and less trafficked than the town beach. The beach fronts an area with a Q'eqchi' Maya community, and a few small guesthouses and restaurants have opened here for travelers who want more quiet than the town provides.
It is also the starting point for the walk to Siete Altares — the trail follows the coastline from here northward. If you plan to do the walk, you can stay at one of the guesthouses at Quehueche the night before and leave early in the morning.
