Punta Castilla or Caxinas

Punta Castilla, also called Punta Caxinas, is traditionally associated with Christopher Columbus's first landing on the American mainland in 1502. The cape sits east of Trujillo, where the coast opens toward the bay.

The site is a simple coastal stop rather than a developed attraction, best combined with Trujillo's fort, church, and waterfront.
