Three directions from Negril: north along the coast to Falmouth and Montego Bay, east into the Cockpit Country, or south to the quieter parishes of Saint Elizabeth. Montego Bay is the easiest day out — it has the airport, the historic Hip Strip, and the Rose Hall estate just outside town. Falmouth is smaller and less visited, with a fine collection of Georgian architecture that predates the sugar collapse. The Cockpit Country is for those who want to leave the coast entirely: a wild interior landscape of forested karst sinkholes, largely inaccessible and genuinely remote.
