James Bond Beach

James Bond Beach is a public beach at Oracabessa, about 20 kilometres east of Ocho Rios, named for its proximity to Ian Fleming's GoldenEye estate where the Bond novels were written. The beach itself is long, calm, and well kept, with white sand and clear water sheltered by headlands. Sun loungers, beach bars, and water sports are available, and the setting feels considerably less commercial than the beach in Ocho Rios itself.

At weekends the beach can get busy with local families, which gives it a livelier atmosphere than the tourist-focused spots in town. Music is often playing. There's an entry fee to access the facilities. The drive from Ocho Rios takes about 25 minutes along the north coast road, passing through the small town of Oracabessa.
