Local Cookshops

Several cookshops in town serve standard Jamaican staples done well: jerk chicken, rice and peas, escovitch fish fresh from the bay. Prices are low, portions are generous, and the food is far better than anything you will find at a tourist-oriented restaurant. Look for the places with handwritten signs and plastic chairs — they are the ones worth stopping at.
